South African skipper Faf du Plessis will represent Irish Franchise Belfast Titans in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam which is set to kick off later this year. du Plessis will join his teammate JP Duminy who was also snapped up by the Belfast Titans to represent them this season.
The star-power in the Euro T20 slam keeps getting bigger and bigger, with South African skipper Faf du Plessis being the latest addition to the European T20 tournament, after being snapped up by Belfast Titans - a franchise based on Ireland. du Plessis will join the likes of Shahid Afridi, Rashid Khan, Babar Azam, Dale Steyn, Martin Guptill and Eoin Morgan as they prepare to headline the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 slam.Ā
du Plessis will play alongside Irish stars Paul Stirling, Boyd Rankin, Mark Adair, Gary Wilson, and his former teammate JP Duminy, for the Belfast Titans. He will also play alongside legendary Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who was also roped in by the franchise. du Plessis was picked by Belfast Titans as a supplementary player, a week after the draft of the league that was held in London on July 19, stated a media release issued on Friday.
The 35-year-old has previously played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Super Giant, and in the Carribean Premier League (CPL) forĀ St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.Ā
The much-anticipated inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam will kick off on August 30th with Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland set to co-host the tournament.Ā
