India to play five Tests, nine ODIs and 12 T20Is during 2019-20 home season

The BCCI has announced India’s schedule for the upcoming home season which has as many as five Tests, nine ODIs and 12 T20Is spread across seven months. The Virat Kohli-led India will start their season with a series against South Africa, hosting the Proteas for a T20I in Dharamsala on September 15.

After India finish the West Indies series in late August, the schedule of which is yet to be announced, India will have a bumper home season awaiting them, with South Africa being the first to take on the Indian team in a T20I series. While Dharamsala, Mohali, and Bengaluru are slated to host the T20s, Vizag, Ranchi, and Pune will host the three Test matches, starting from October 2.

Apart from South Africa, there will be three other teams who will travel to India to play limited-overs series. In late November, Bangladesh will play a two-match Test series as a part of the ICC Test Championship while West Indies will be in India for three ODIs and three T20Is. Zimbabwe will also play their first-ever bilateral series in India since 2002 when they start off the three T20Is series in Guwahati, Indore, and Pune in January 2020 before Australia play three ODIs in the same month in Mumbai, Rajkot and Bangalore from January 14.

South Africa will also make their second visit to the country in March 2020 to play three ODIs in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Kolkata.
