Former Indian cricketer and father of iconic Indian all rounder Yuvraj Singh, Yograj Singh, has made shocking claims that a certain insider's political motives are the reason behind his son's actual retirement. He went on to threaten to expose the said person post the ongoing World Cup.

Having been a cricketer for India himself, although, in what was a somewhat brief career comprising of a solitary test and 6 ODIs, Yograj Singh has always been outspoken about his son's stints with the international team. In a most recent development, he has again lashed out publicly because he believes his son was forced to take retirement in an unfair manner.

Having announced his retirement on Monday citing no particular reason for his decision, Yuvraj Singh had said he just wanted to enjoy his cricket now that a huge pressure had been lifted off his shoulders.

"It happened with Gautam Gambhir. It happened with Virender Sehwag. They were great players. Now it has happened with Yuvraj Singh. It had happened with VVS Laxman as well. I know the reason why all this has happened. Only one individual is responsible for all this,” Yograj was quoted as saying, reported the Sports Rush.

Currently an actor, Yograj Singh refused to mention the culprit's name to avoid any negative effects on India's ongoing World Cup campaign.

“I don’t want to take his name but he has been playing this dirty politics from the last 15 years. He has made lives difficult for Indian cricketers. I will make this revelation after the World Cup gets over. He will remember this for life that someone said something about him. I am not the one who will sit down without saying anything. I always speak the truth. And when I speak the truth, no one speaks in front of me. I don’t want to speak about him at this point in time because I don’t want the team to get affected during the World Cup,” Yograj added

He had previously made similar claims and accused veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni of playing with his son's career and keeping him out of the national team. While the controversial comments had caused a stir, they were not found to be credible and soon forgotten. It will be interesting to see whether the situation is similar this time around.
