ICC World Cup 2019 | Marcus Stoinis back in squad for Bangladesh game

Australian coach Justin Langer has said that Marcus Stoinis, who had missed out on two back-to-back games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, may have a chance to play against Bangladesh on Thursday. Stoinis was ruled out due to a side strain injury that he picked up during the game against India.
During the match against India, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis picked up an injury which prompted the Cricket Australia to fly in substitute all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. But, the Western Australian has clawed his way back into fitness and into the squad to face Bangladesh. Although coach Langer did not confirm his return, he remains hopeful and lauded the spirit shown by Stoinis, a key-man in the lineup.Â
"He's done everything possible to get himself fit. He wouldn't give up the opportunity for anything, would he? He's determined, so it doesn't surprise me with where he's at now. It's a credit to him, it's a credit to the medical staff that are getting him up. So hopefully he can have a real impact on the tournament," Langer told Reuters.
Meanwhile, pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile is also in the mix for a recall on Thursday. Coulter-Nile, who had only recovered from injury prior to the World Cup, found himself on the sidelines against Sri Lanka due to a sore back.Â
"He played three games (in seven days) and I don't think he has done that for a long time," Langer said.
Having had a day off, a rejuvenated Coulter-Nile is all set to run in hard against a high-flying Bangladesh side.Â
"He's fit and he's certainly fit to play the next game," Langer added.
Australia are second on the table, level on points with table toppers England, whilst Bangladesh come in on the back of a thumping win against the Windies.
