Imran Khan’s special assistant Naeem ul Haque, on Saturday, posted a picture of Sachin Tendulkar mistaking him for former Pakistan captain Imran Khan. Twitter was quick to realize the mistake and ever since there has been a tirade of hilarious tweets trolling the innocent gaffe.

Amidst all the tension that is surrounding the ongoing World Cup, people on social media found a reason to lighten up the mood and took full advantage of the opportunity.

A black and white of a young Sachin Tendulkar was posted by Naeem ul Hauqe at 12:58 AM on Saturday on the microblogging website and seemingly had no reason to come to the media’s attention. However, the picture had been captioned “PM Imran Khan 1969” and it did not take long for the post to go viral. There are already 15,000 likes and 2.4K retweets on the hilarious mess up of a tweet.

In response to the tweet, someone posted a picture of a Pakistan fan claiming him to be Salman Khan while another posted a picture of Bollywood actor Salman Khan and labelled him as Shoaib Akhtar. There are too many other such hilarious comparisons on the thread to list them all here.

This is the second time in quick succession such an incident has taken place after Imran Khan had recently posted a quote from Rabindranath Tagore but had credited it to Kahlil Gibran. Though a bit embarrassing for the World Cup-winning captain, it sure has helped the country ease up a but in light of a disappointing World Cup campaign.
