Brian Lara admitted to hospital in Mumbai after complaints of chest pain

Brian Lara, who is in India for his studio commitment with Star Sports, suffered a minor heart scare in Mumbai and has been admitted to Global Hospital in Parel. The former cricketer complained of chest pain and underwent angiography but the hospital is yet to issue a statement on the same.

Brian Lara, who signed to be present in the analysis show of Star Sports for the IPL and the World Cup, has been in India for some time now and is a regular presence in the television with other experts like Scott Styris, Dean Jones, Anil Kumble, Irfan Pathan, Gautam Gambhir among others. Lara’s on-point analysis and strong points have garnered a lot of fans, much like his cricketing days, but in sudden trouble, he complained of uneasiness early in the day and was rushed to the hospital.

Sources privy to the developments told TOI that "He was complaining of unease but he's absolutely fine now. There's nothing to worry (about)".

ToI also reported that Lara was on a break from his duties after the game between India and Afghanistan and was expected to resume duty on the eve of India versus West Indies match scheduled for June 27.

Those in the know say, "(he) is fine and there's nothing much to worry. It was just a minor scare because of some uneasiness in the chest he complained about. He'll be on his way back to the hotel very soon".
