There are numerous ways to be dismissed in cricket, but a mix-up between the batsmen is what piques the interest the most. In the encounter between Australia and England, Steve Smith's unawareness resulted in Marcus Stoinis' dismissal as the duo ended up on the same end while sneaking a double.

After a solid start, Australia were all set to post a total of 330 plus, but a sudden collapse in the middle put them in a delicate situation. Marcus Stoinis and Steve Smith were trying to stitch a partnership in the middle and negotiate the pumped English attack, but the former's dismissal brought a dent to their plan.

Adil Rashid was in the middle of a wonderful spell, where he was tossing the ball up nicely and keeping the batsmen on their toes. On the fifth delivery of the 42nd over, Smith drove one tossed up delivery beautifully towards deep cover and charged for the run. A second looked imminent but Smith turned his back on Stoinis, who came all the way charging to the other end. Smith was shocked to see Stoinis at the other end as Rashid collected the throw and handed to Jos Buttler safely.

This horrible mix-up meant Stoinis had to continue his walk to the pavilion and both the batsmen were furious with the lack of communication. Stoinis is widely-reckoned to wreak havoc in the death overs and his mistimed dismissal will certainly cost Australia fair amount of runs.
