Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been signed up to play for Western Storm for the upcoming edition of the Women's Cricket Super League. Reports in Cricbuzz revealed that Sharma will be leaving for England on the 28th of July and will be available for the full duration of the tournament which begins in August.

Ranked fourth in the top all-rounders in the ICC Cricket Rankings, Deepti Sharma, who made her ODI International debut in 2014 against South Africa in Bangalore, is an all-rounder who bats Left-handed and bowls right-arm off break. Her high score of 188 is also the current third highest individual scorer by a woman cricketer in ODIs.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of playing in the KIA Super League. Every player wants to play alongside and against the best in the world, and this will give me the opportunity to do that. I have heard good things about Western Storm from Smriti and I can't wait to contribute to the team's success on the field," Deepti was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Sharma made her debut in the 20-over format in international cricket in 2016 and has played 30 T20Is, with 28 wickets at an average of 22.92."Deepti is a quality player with a huge amount of experience at the very highest level and she will bring something different to our squad this year.

"Continuity of selection is something that has played a huge roll in our success over the last few years, and therefore we felt it was important to sign overseas players who will be with us for the duration of the campaign. She's still only 21 but she will bring a huge amount of experience and knowledge to our dressing room. She is currently rated as the second-best all-rounder in the world in one-day cricket by the ICC, so her quality is there for all to see," said Trevor Griffin, head coach of Storm.
