Do whatever you want to do, but be attentive when Rishabh Pant is playing because there is always a chance that he would do something to make the show interesting. After pulling off the same stunt in last January, he recreated the Shawn Michaels kip up once again, this time at his home ground.

In the last game, Pant was under a lot of pressure when he missed a stumping chance and the crowd erupted in unison to chant “Dhoni-Dhoni”. It was a kind of unfair for the youngster, but then again, he is not the one to hold a grudge for that. Leaving everything away, he came back fresh and pulled off a nice stunt to show that he doesn’t care about the opinion coming outside of the dressing room.

On the second ball of the 48th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a good length ball to Jhye Richardson on the fifth stump line. It was an easy opportunity for Richardson to get a four as he just opened the face late. The edge moved in the air quickly and despite Pant making a full-stretch dive to his left, he couldn’t get hold of the catch and the ball went for a four.

While people were not so happy about the miss, Pant decided to cheer them up with his antics. He pulled off the Shawn Michaels kip up that he first did during the Sydney Test match against Australia in January. He lifted his legs up and then pushed his legs upward. The inertia took the rest of his body with him upward and then he was standing straight to pull off the rising handspring kip up, exactly the way American professional wrestler Shawn Michaels used to do in the wrestling ring.

That sends Delhi crowd to a frenzy as they erupted in joy, seeing their local hero being so unfussed about everything surrounding him.
