Australia great and pace bowling legend, Glenn McGrath, lavished praise on the Indian pace department who've impressed on foreign tours in the last year under the leadership of Virat Kohli. McGrath further added that Steven Smith and David Warner will both do well in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Glenn McGrath is widely regarded as one of the best pacers in world cricket in the last 30 years. McGrath, now aged 49, heaped praise on the Indian pace attack who were influential in the Test series win against Australia last December.

"At the Test series in Australia recently, I didn't spot any weakness. India's bowling unit was incredible. It (the challenge) is about keeping them fit and on the park. I have been a massive fan of Bumrah. The way he goes about his game, the attitude he showcases is top-notch. To me, both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Bumrah will hold the key for India's chances at the World Cup. Bhuvneshwar is the swing bowler and he needs to perform well. He is a thinking bowler. Bumrah's form in the One-day game has been exceptional. The yorkers he bowls at the death and with that pace is something unique," McGrath told TOI in a recent interview.

McGrath, who has represented India in 124 Test matches claiming a mammoth 563 wickets, also reckoned that the returning Australian duo of Steven Smith and David Warner would be influential in the 12th edition of the IPL for their respective teams.

"I think they will do well in the IPL. They have been out of the game for the last 12 months now. I know they played a few T20 competitions around the world, but they are keen and hungry. Both will be ready to prove they are good enough to continue playing international cricket the way they did when they left.

"The return of Warner and Smith presents a good headache for the Australian team management. I think Warner will take the opener's spot. I see Usman (Khawaja) coming in at No. 3 and Steve Smith at the No. 4 position," McGrath added.
