David Miller has said that meeting people from different countries and building friendship is a real standout for him in the Indian Premier League. Miller has been a regular for Kings XI Punjab since his inclusion into the side back in 2012 but his willow hasn’t spilled fire this season.

IPL is widely-reckoned as one of the finest franchise-based T20 leagues in the world. Apart from the financial aspect, the tournament enjoys a massive fan following across the globe and has scaled newer heights in recent times.

One of the big aspects of the IPL is the presence of international stars from different countries representing one team. It brings cricketers from rival countries together and the moment is just mesmerising for the fans. Miller feels that this is a standout quality of the tournament.

“The IPL has been a good opportunity for me. You get to mix with a lot of different people around the world. It’s not just about the cricket. You get to know so many people from different countries and build friendships. That has been a real standout for me personally,” Miller said, reported Cricketnext.

A regular for KXIP since 2012, Miller has been a force to be reckoned in the middle-order. However, his magic wasn’t here to be seen this season and struggled to get going.

“It’s been a decent year; there were one or two occasions where I should have closed down games. In the middle-order, your job is to finish games and it’s obviously disappointing when you can’t do that. I have contributed in a couple of games and hopefully can finish of the season well,” Miller said.

KXIP need a big win in their match against Chennai Super Kings in order to make it to the playoffs. They had few games in their grasps this season but floundered at crucial junctures.

“They have been a few close games, if you win those you gain confidence quickly. We have had a couple of close losses but also a couple of close victories, so I would say it’s been pretty even.”

Cricket is ever-evolving and the level of competition has only risen in recent times. It demands a lot in order to stay ahead in the race and the competition is only getting stronger.

“See cricket is always evolving, players are getting better and you have to continue to improve. Opposition is getting braver and fearless. You have bowlers bowling different varieties and even the batters are playing scoops and other shots which aren’t in the textbook. You need to stay with the times, the competition has got a lot stronger and its very much focused on the results."
