Kedar Jadhav’s participation the remainder of the tournament is in jeopardy after suffering a mistimed shoulder injury in the encounter against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday night. With the World Cup just few weeks away, Jadhav’s injury is a huge concern for the Indian national side.

Kedar Jadhav’s presence in the playoffs is doubtful after picking up a shoulder injury while fielding in the deep. To confirm how serious is the injury, scans and x-rays have been scheduled on Monday. With World Cup around the corner, it is certainly not a good news for the Maharashtra all-rounder.

Stephen Fleming confirmed that Jadhav looked in substantial distress and is unlikely to play for CSK this season. With World Cup being the primary concern, Jadhav’s only focus would be to recover on time.

“Kedar Jadhav's getting an X-ray and a scan tomorrow. We're hopeful for him. I don't think we'll see him again in this tournament for us. So now his attention will turn to what it looks like for the World Cup. He's in some discomfort but we just need to be accurate with our assessments tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious but it didn't look that good,” Fleming said, reported ESPNCricinfo.

While fielding on the boundary, Jadhav dived to save an overthrow from Ravindra Jadeja in the 14th over. He landed on his shoulders and looked in some pain in the very next moment. He was assisted off the field and didn’t return for the remainder of the match. Last year, Jadhav was ruled out of the IPL after suffering a hamstring tear in the very first game. Although his willow hasn't spit fire for CSK this season, he will have a crucial role to play in the World Cup and has cemented his spot in the middle-order.
