Yuvraj Singh has said that India have to back their strength that is the spin attack in the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales. Yuvraj has also backed Hardik Pandya and has asserted that the all-rounder can have a great run in the tournament for the kind of form he has been in recent times.

Indian spinners have been in great form in recent times and wreaked havoc against the best of the teams. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have gunned down the oppositions in pair and have developed into a vital cog. Yuvraj has asserted that India should back their spin department and pick Hardik as the fifth bowler.

"I feel we need to go with our strength.  Our strength is that our spinners have been successful against South Africa, Australia and England and we should go with that. I would say go with our four best bowlers and fifth is Hardik," Yuvraj said, reported TOI.

Pandya has been in the form of his life in the ongoing IPL for Mumbai Indians. He has not only scored quick runs but also chipped in with crucial wickets to help MI sculpt a spot in the final. Hardik has plundered 393 runs in this season of the Indian Premier League along with 14 wickets and Yuvraj hopes that the in form all-rounder will carry his form into the World Cup as well.

"I was actually having this conversation with him. I told him that 'you have a great chance of performing really well with the ball and bat', the kind of form he is in at the moment. Definitely, the way he is batting at the moment, it is phenomenal and I hope he carries that form. He has been bowling well in patches but as I said it is all about how you handle the pressure... I just hope that Hardik has an awesome tournament."

The current edition of the World Cup has been tweaked a little, where each team get to play more matches and the chances of making a comeback are higher. Yuvraj recalled India’s exit from the 2007 World Cup, where the team only played three games in the league stages before being knocked out.

“Playing everybody and nine games will definitely be tougher but it's actually going to work in both ways. It's tougher, yes, but you also have an opportunity to bounce back. We lost the 2007 World Cup and suddenly we felt that we needed more games. Those times there was no opportunity to bounce back," Yuvraj concluded.
