Dwayne Bravo has stated there cannot be a better Indian Premier League final than the one against Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at Hyderabad on Sunday. The West Indian all-rounder said this in a candid chat with his CSK teammate Harbhajan Singh after the second qualifier at Vizag.

Harbhajan Singh was a part of Mumbai Indians for ten years from the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League to the 2017 edition, in which they emerged as the winners. However, he was not retained for the 2018 season and was eventually picked up by Chennai Super Kings. Similarly, Dwayne Bravo was also a part of MI for the first three seasons before being picked up by CSK. Now they will face their previous team in the final encounter of this season on Sunday. The two veterans opened up on their views about the two most successful teams in the history of the cash rich league.

“We are playing Mumbai Indians, one of the first franchises we played together. What are your thoughts on that?,” Harbhajan asked Bravo in a chat session for the broadcasters on Friday.

“I think we are the two best teams in the tournament and we deserve to be in the final. I personally was looking forward to the clash. Obviously, both teams played very well throughout the season. I don’t think there can be a better final than Mumbai and Chennai,” Bravo replied.

Harbhajan has hardly played any cricket after his previous IPL season but has been successful this season, bagging 16 wickets with an economy of little over seven in 11 matches so far. In the second qualifier against Delhi Capitals, he scalped two wickets and revealed how Bravo’s advice has been of great help for him.

“I was very happy with the way I bowled (against DC). I would like to share with all of you that when I started bowling in the nets in Chennai, Bravo told me that you bowling too slow. He just told me to push a little more, and that was the right kind of advice. Obviously, you play a lot of cricket and I didn’t play throughout the year so thank you for the advise, it really helped me,” said the off-spinner.

Rishabh Pant was the only batsman for DC to cross the 30 run mark on Friday and was looking dangerous in the death overs. However, he was dismissed on 38 by Deepak Chahar, courtesy Bravo’s perfectly timed athletic catch at wide log on. The 35-year-old was quick to point out that even at this stage, he is still fit.

“Well it is good that I can move around at this age. Obviously, a lot of people think at this age that we can’t move. It was a crucial moment in the game. Rishabh Pant, one of the most dangerous players in the IPL, so it was good to get him out at that point. I was a bit off the boundary and the ball was rising,” he expressed.

“Glad you were fielding there and not me,” responded Harbhajan, who is not considered among the best of fielders.
