After being axed from the England World cup squad, Alex Hales is determined to make a national comeback and targets World T20 next year on the back of some scintillating performances in T20 leagues. Hales missed out on the World Cup spot after the failed the second recreational drug test.

Hales was a part of Englandā€™s preliminary squad and all set to play the World Cup, but his world turned upside down after he failed the recreational drug test. "That's one of my aims - that T20 World Cup. I'm going to go through the process and hopefully score some runs in these tournaments and see how we go - just enjoy my cricket," Hales said, reported Cricbuzz.Ā

England have developed into a formidable unit in recent times and Hales backs his team to win the World Title for the maiden time. "I'm still a fan and wish all the boys the best. What we've done over the last few years has been unbelievable so the guys deserve to win it and I'll be sat there watching and cheering.ā€

Hales has been picked by Barbados Trident for the upcoming CPL and eyes to churn out massive runs to regain confidence and momentum. He has done extremely well in T20 cricket and have good memories with the bat at Kensington Oval. Hales just wants to get back on the field and is looking forward to play in the CPL t20.Ā Ā

"It's good responsibility and good for learning as an overseas player - there's probably a bit more pressure on you to perform. That's something I enjoy. I've played a lot of cricket for England now. That side of the game, the pressure, is something I really enjoy and have learned to adapt and get used to. I just want to get back playing what I love most and that's cricket so this is such a good opportunity to go and play at a ground where I've got some fond memories - the Kensington Oval - and go and play in such a big tournament in some different conditions. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there."
