Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been drafted by Nottinghamshire County and the side welcomed him with a witty tweet, where they issued a warning to the non-strikers. Ashwin has drawn severe criticism after Mankading Jos Buttler in their inaugural game of the recently concluded IPL.

Ravichandran Ashwin became the talk of the town after Mankading English batsman Jos Buttler during the KXIP-RR encounter in the IPL. The off-spinner drew mixed opinions on his controversial decision and defended himself by stating that ‘the dismissal was well within the law of the game’.

Ashwin was recently signed by Nottinghamshire County and is scheduled to play six games for them this season. India’s premier off-spinner replaced Australia's James Pattinson as the overseas player in the squad. However, to mark his inclusion, the county warned the non-strikers to be aware of Ashwin, who happens to be their latest signing. Nottinghamshire County’s tweet had a picture of Ashwin and caption that read: "FYI non-strikers. Notts have a new signing!

Earlier, Ashwin was delighted to be roped in by Nottinghamshire and was quoted by ESPNCricinfo saying, “I'm really looking forward to joining up with Nottinghamshire, to playing cricket at an iconic venue like Trent Bridge and hopefully contributing to some County Championship victories. I enjoyed my previous stint in England with Worcestershire. It's a good, competitive standard of cricket over there and I can't wait to get started."
