India opener Mayank Agarwal was delighted as he went on to score his second double century as he credited his debut innings at the MCG for his great run in Test cricket as he stressed on playing the game 'ball by ball.' Agarwal went to score 243 on day two of the first Test match as scored 407 runs.

It seems like the first Test match between India and Bangladesh is already in the clutches of the hosts as India take a mammoth 343 run lead after the visitors were restricted to only 150 in their first innings. The day 2 of the match was completely dominated by Indian batsmen as four of them went on to score half centuries, including a double hundred, while skipper Virat Kohli's duck was an exception.

The hero of the day for India was opener Mayank Agarwal who amassed 243 runs off 330 balls to bring up his second double hundred in just eight Test matches. He seemed unstoppable as he toyed with Bangladesh bowling the whole day long. He believes that the transformation in his mindset back in 2016 has left him hungry for runs.

"I changed my mindset in 2016. Dropped my fear of failure. After that, I only got hungry and hungry. There have been times when I've not got runs, so when the going is good, just thinking of making it big. Really enjoyed the time since I made the Test team,' said the double centurion as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Agarwal had been in superb form this home season after a setback in the West Indies tour and hailed his debut innings in Melbourne at the historic MCG as the reason behind it. He explained that the feeling is stuck with him and that's what has been motivating him.

"Playing in Melbourne was special, and having contributed to the series win Down Under was a top feeling. That's the feeling which has stuck with me. It's the feeling that makes the team go out there and win tournaments. Very important to play the game ball by ball," the Karnataka opener shared.

Agarwal also went on to share what transpired between him and vice captain Ajinkya Rahane during their 190 run stand. Having lost two quick wickets of Cheteswar Pujara and Kohli, they tried to be cautious but looked to pounce on the loose balls, the youngster informed.

"Rahane's a senior pro, so he was guiding me. We had lost two wickets, so idea was to be cautious, but not too cautious. Once we got a good partnership, it was all about building. I was watching the ball well, so thought 'why not' for the big shots. We haven't spoken about declaration, but we are in the drivers' seat."
