Tim Paine has informed that they are well prepared to face Pakistanā€™s young pace-bowling unit as they are reviewing all the information available on the teen talents. Paine has also gone on to urge his batsmen to step up instead of depending on Steve Smith who has been in red hot form lately.

AustraliaĀ areĀ all set to begin their home summer with a bang as they go into the two-match Test series against Pakistan as the favourites. While Pakistan haven't won a Test match Down Under in their last 12 attempts, they are looking to break the streak on the back of its young and dynamic pace attack.

The visitors are going into their match at the Gabba with an element of surprise in their bags asĀ teenage sensationĀ Naseem Shah is all set to make his debut. The youngster showed a lot of temperament during his brief but fiery eight-over spell during the tour match against Australia A. Australia Test skipper Tim Paine has assured that they are prepared for the pacers as they look to eliminate the element of surprise in the opposition camp.

"We've prepared for all of them. That's the thing with Pakistan, they have a lot of different options, a lot of skills and by the looks of it a fair bit of pace. So we've made sure we've looked at as much footage as possible of their pace attack, and their batters.Ā What we don't want is to go out there tomorrow at some stage and be surprised by something we see, whether that's their spinner, their quicks or their batsmen. So we've done our research," TOI quoted Paine.

Barring Naseem, Pakistan also have 19-year-old speedsters Shaheen Afridi and Musa Khan along with the likes Muhammad Abbas and veteran Imran Khan senior among their fast bowling arsenal. Paine acknowledged the talent Pakistan has in their arsenal as he looked forward to an exciting battle between the sides.

"He looks like a really, really exciting talent.Ā Pakistan have got a knack of finding these young fast bowlers so it looks like they have another one to add to that rich history of fast bowlers that they seem to produce."

While the visitors will be looking to find a chink in the Aussieā€™s armour to exploit with their bowling prowess, the top order duo of David Warner and Steve Smith will be the major hurdle as they will also be joined by promising talents like Joe Burns and Marcus Labuschagne.

While Smith has been in red hot form ever since his return to international cricket in the Ashes, where he toyed around with a potent English bowling attack and carried the whole batting line up, the Aussie skipper has urged his batsmen to step up and join Smith instead of being a mere bystander.Ā

"Probably during the Ashes, we relied too heavily on Steve, so the rest of the top seven are really keen to score a lot of runs.Ā Traditionally we love batting in Australia, we have had some real success on this ground, it's a great ground to bat on if you can get in and spend a lot of time out there."
