Just when we thought Wriddhiman Saha’s catch to dismiss Thenuis de Bruyn would be the best catch of the day, the man himself went one better just a few overs later. After Ravi Ashwin inflicted an inside-edge off Faf du Plessis’ bat, Saha juggled four times to take an incredible reflex catch.

This is just Wriddhiman Saha’s world and we’re all living in it. Not long ago, everyone, including ourselves, were going gaga over his superhuman one-handed diving effort to send Thenuis de Bruyn packing. Well, it just took 20 more overs for Saha to outdo himself, as he came up with yet another ridiculous effort to leave the world in awe of his keeping.

South African skipper Faf du Plessis looked like he’d brought out his Adelaide and Delhi avatar as he was a one-man mission to block and bore the hell out of the Indian bowlers. At one point it looked like there was no way past his defence, but thankfully, India have a magician in the form of Ravi Ashwin and unsurprisingly, he made things happen.

After a sharp Ashwin off-spinner caught the inside-edge of du Plessis’ bat, the ball went in a flash to the keeper’s gloves, giving him no time to react. But as Saha tried to catch it, the ball blobbed out of his hand and it looked like it was going to hit the ground for all money. However, incredibly, after four attempts, juggling and playing around with the ball, the 34-year-old finally lobbed it up and pulled off an incredible dive forward to take the catch. The whole sequence was a delight from a viewer’s point of view and unsurprisingly, this stupendous effort sent Twitter into a frenzy.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Saha’s catch:
