India 'A' and South Africa 'A' will play out the remaining of the overs of the 4th ODI on Thursday, after rain halted play just 7.4 overs into India's chase. Chasing a target of 193 in 25 overs, India lost Shubman Gill early, but Shikhar Dhawan and Prashant Chopra steadied the ship for the hosts.

Brief scores: India 56/1 in 7.4 overs (Dhawan 33*, Norje 1/26) in response to South Africa 137-1 in 25 overs (Hendricks 60*, Chahar 1/18)

For the fourth match running, a combination of heavy rains and wet outfield cut-short the 50-over encounter between India 'A' and South Africa 'A' at Thiruvananthapuram. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, India suffered the wrath of a rampant Reeza Hendricks, as the opener blasted his way to an unbeaten 60 off just 70 balls. The opener was well supported by Matthew Breetzke (25), Temba Bavuma (28) and Heinrich Klaasen (21), who chipped in with 20s.

Apart from Rahul Chahar (1/18), the Indian bowlers had an outing to forget, as they were dispatched with ease by the South African batters led by Hendricks. With the exception of the leggie Chahar, all the other bowlers used were expensive, going at more than five runs per over. The South Africans posted a healthy total of 137 in their quota of 25 overs.

After being set an adjusted target of 193 in 25 overs by the VJD method, the Shreyas Iyer-led side got off to the worst start possible, losing Shubman Gill for 12 in just the second over. However, Dhawan looked in great touch, racing away to 33 off just 21 balls, striking six boundaries in the process. He was well supported by youngster Prashant Chopra, who supported him by negating the threat of the Proteas pacers.

However, with the score 56/1, heavy rains once again made an appearance, and the umpires, who had enough of the delays, took the call to postpone the match to the reserve day tomorrow, with India set to resume where they left off on Wednesday.
