Jamaica Tallawahs have replaced Pakistan fast bowler Amad Butt with Jerome Taylor for the ongoing Caribbean Premier League after Butt made himself unavailable due to domestic commitments in Pakistan. Taylor has played for the Tallawahs in the past apart from representing the St Lucia Stars.

After Pakistan Cricket restructured their domestic structure and instructed their contracted players to take part in the Qaied-e-Azam Trophy starting on September 14, Amad Butt decided to return to his own country to take part in the competition, which created a void in the Jamaica side. As a result, the team has brought in Jerome Taylor to fill up the position.

The former Windies pacer, who is plying his trade in the T20 Blast for Somerset, had played for the Tallawahs in the past while representing St Lucia Stars meanwhile. Taylor had also played as many as 46 Tests, 90 ODIs and 30 T20 internationals for the West Indies, taking 291 wickets in international cricket.

While Taylor is a shadow of his former self, it will take something for the Tallawahs to successfully replace Butt as the uncapped 24-year-old fast bowler has been one of the finest talents in Pakistan and was also once included in Pakistan's 13-man squad but never went on to make his debut.

The Tallawahs start their CPL campaign against Trinbago Knight Riders on Friday 6 September at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. They will play five matches at home at Sabina Park between 12 September and 19 September.
