The BCCI has lifted Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) suspension after the body informed that it has become compliant with Lodha Committee guidelines and now has its constitution in place. The RCA was banned in 2014 after former IPL chief Lalit Modi was elected as its president.

In 2014, Rajasthan Cricket Association was banned from organising any cricket-related activities after they elected Lalit Modi as the president. Modi's ban had already been rolled out by the BCCI after he was accused of violating FEMA laws, corruption in IPL and money laundering. That also coincided with Rajasthan missing out on IPL games with two match-fixing scandals and the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was barred from hosting any BCCI games, until last year.

However, as per a report on News18, the BCCI has decided to lift the ban imposed on the association which means that RCA will soon have general elections. RCA will hold the elections according to the guidelines of the Supreme Court before September 28.

It has also been reported that RCA’s new constitution was also approved by the BCCI as it was in line with the Lodha guidelines but BCCI is yet to formally convey the decision to RCA. President Dr. C.P Joshi was confident that all the formalities will be completed soon as the state associations have already called for SGMs.

Most importantly, the upliftment of the ban means RCA will also get its due amount from the BCCI, which is estimated to be somewhere around 250 crores.
