Pakistan Cricket Board has stated that BCCI need to give a clarification on where they stand and if they want to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup by next year’s June. PCB CEO Wasim Khan has also added that they don’t have any problems playing India in a bilateral series at a neutral venue.

India were slated to host the Asia Cup in September 2018 but that had to be moved to UAE due to India’s problems of not being able to host Pakistan in the country. With the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup being organised by Pakistan, the same problem has started creeping in again, with India, in no way, going to play in their neighbouring country. In such a circumstance, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set a June, 2020, deadline for the BCCI to confirm participation in the Asia Cup.

“We need to see if India agrees to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. There is still some time till next year’s September but by June, we have to know where we are going with this and if it can’t be hosted here because of a lack of involvement of India,” PCB CEO Wasim Khan said in an interview, reported Sportstar.

“But that is a decision for the Asian Cricket Council and ICC to make. We are ready to have India in the Asia Cup,” Khan said.

While Khan accepted that both the boards share a very amicable relationship, the cricketing ties have been hindered by the Indian government’s interference. Khan said if India wants to play Pakistan in future, they should give a firm commitment before they can host them in neutral grounds.
