Indian cueists Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta combined forces to thrash arch-rivals Pakistan 3-0 in the semi-final of the Asian Snooker team championship in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. India will take on Iran in the final of the tournament on Sunday with the all-important title on the line.

Aditya Mehta, India’s lone professional snooker player, gave India the perfect start to the match by defeating Mohammed Asif 73-16 in the opening game of the semi-final. Then Pankaj Advani, who recently won the Asian 6-Red Snooker title, made it two out of two for the side by outclassing Asjad Iqbal 83-25.

With India leading 2-0, Advani and Mehta joined hands in the doubles event and trounced Pakistan 3-0 by defeating Asif and Asjad 92-8. India will now face Iran, who defeated Malaysia 3-0 in the semi-final, in the final today.
