After losing the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) elections, cueists Pankaj Advani and Alok Kumar have complained about the violation of Sports Code during the polls. Both the players had contested for the vice-presidents’ posts but were unable to gather votes in their favour.

As per a PTI report, there were four vice-presidents’ posts in the BSFI for which the polls were held on Saturday and active players Advani and Alok were a part of the aspirants for that as well. However, Advani could get only 13 votes in his favour while Alok got only 11 and the duo was not elected as the vice-presidents of the national federation.

Meanwhile, after the results have come out, both of them have alleged the violation of sports code during the recent polls where they failed to get elected for the four posts for which there were 10 candidates in the fray. The four were selected in the process which according to Advani, Alok and some others was because of some lapses in the legal process.

They have said in a letter to the federation that the secretary S Balasubramanian himself acted as a returning officer which is not as per the rules as he has an existing office bearer. It was also alleged that the electoral college was not given to the members of the board till date. They have claimed that the president, the vice presidents, the secretary and the treasurer have all cast their votes in violation of the Sports Code.

“The executive body overstayed its term by more than eight months, which was not ratified by the AGM,” they said in the letter.
