Indian youngsters Lallianzuala Chhangte and Jerry Mawihmingthanga, from DSK Shivajians U18, have been handed a training stint by Premier League giants Liverpool FC according to reports. Lallianzuala was part of the Indian team that won the 2015 SAFF championship back in January.

In what could prove to be a big boost for Indian football, Indian youngsters Lallianzuala Chhangte and Jerry Mawihmingthanga from the DSK–Liverpool International academy have travelled to Liverpool for a one-month training stint. Lailanzuala confirmed his arrival at Liverpool through a Facebook post on Saturday.

Although more details about the training stint are yet to be known, Liverpool FC-based websites have reported that both players have arrived at Liverpool for a trial.

According to the website This is Anfield, Lallianzuala Chhangte could play for Liverpool U18s if the trial proves to be successful while Jerry Mawihmingthanga could go into the U21 side.

Although Lallianzuala Chhangte is just 18 years old, he has already represented India three times and scored two goals during India’s title triumph at the 2015 SAFF Championship. The nimble-footed attacker, who can play both on the wings or at the top was also part of the Indian U-23 team that won silver at the South Asian Games last month.

Like his teammate, Lallianzuala, 19-year old Jerry Mawihmingthanga was also part of the Indian U-23 for the South Asian Games. Although he is yet to play for the Indian national team, the forward is regarded as a fleet-footed attacker with an eye for goal.
