England came from behind to hold neighbours Scotland to an exciting 2-2 draw courtesy a stoppage-time volley by English captain Harry Kane at Hampden Park in Glasgow. Meanwhile, Poland thrashed Romania 3-1 at home while Germany routed San Marino 7-0 to stay at the spot in their Qualification group.
A defiant England side denied Scotland a famous win over their neighbours when new English skipper Harry Kane volleyed a cross home in stoppage time to ensure the match finished on level terms. Earlier in the game, substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had opened the scoring for England in the 70th minute, before two Leigh Griffiths free kicks, in the 87th and 90th minute respectively handed Scotland the lead going into stoppage time.
Meanwhile, a Robert Lewandoski hat-trick powered Poland to a 3-1 win over Romania and also helped the Poles maintain top spot in the Group. Two of Lewandowski's three goals were scored from the penalty spot while Bogdan Stancu's 25-metre shot proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
The biggest win on the night belonged to Germany, who thrashed San Marino 7-0 to stay at the top of their group with a hundred percent win record in the qualifiers. Striker Sandro Wagner scored his first hat-trick for the National team and was joined by Julian Draxler, Shkodran Mustafi, Amin Younes, and Julian Brandt on the scoresheet.
