FIFA to investigate Paul Pogba's world-record transfer to Man United

On Tuesday, a source at FIFA confirmed that FIFA will investigate Paul Pogba's world-record transfer from Juventus to Manchester United that happened in August of 2016. Though, the aspect of the transfer that would be assessed by the world football governing body has yet not been made clear.

Paul Pogba's record transfer grabbed the headlines last year when the French midfielder was bought by Manchester United at a whopping 111 million USD from Juventus. The French media however reported FIFA opening an inquiry on the transfer for undisclosed reasons and the world governing body confirmed the reports on Tuesday.

Pogba started his career at Manchester United itself when he was a teenager and then left the club after a falling out with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. During his run with Juventus, the 24-year old contributed heavily to four league title wins in Serie A. Juventus also made it to the finals of the 2015 UEFA Champions League which featured Pogba in the playing 11 against Barcelona. Pogba's success with the club won him a permanent spot in the French side also, as well

Currently, the midfielder is recovering from a hamstring injury and has not played for the Manchester United in the last few matches. United are placed fifth in the English Premier League at the moment.
