ISL 2018 | Kerala Blasters end association with coach David James
Kerala Blasters have let go head coach David James after some terrible games which went against the team in the ongoing season of the Indian Super League. Kerala Blasters have released in a statement that the team and James have decided to end their association on mutual consent.
The Blasters are yet to win a match in the ongoing season of ISL since the opening game against ATK which went in their favour. The team recently lost to Mumbai City FC by a huge margin of 6-1 goals on Sunday and are currently placed at the eighth position of the points table with only nine points from 12 matches. The Kochi-based side has one win, six draws, and five defeats to its name in the current season. The former English custodian joined the Kerala franchise earlier this year.

The CEO of the football club thanked the former goalkeeper and wished him all the best while James also mentioned about the players, team management, and the fans of the "Men in Yellow" hailed their role during his stay with the club.
“The club would like to thank David for his efforts towards the team and wishes him all the very best in his career,” Kerala CEO Varun Tripuraneni said.
“I’d like to thank the management, players and all staff for their support during my stint with the club. I wish them the very best for the future. The fans here have been amazing and I’d like to thank them too for a memorable experience,” James was quoted as saying.
James had first joined Kerala in the inaugural edition of the league as a player-manager in which it went on to become the runners-up after losing to ATK in the final. This is the second season that the Blasters decided to change their coach mid-way into the tournament as they had decided to part ways with Rene Meulensteen last season after a poor start to their campaign in the fourth edition of the league.
