Barcelona reached in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey after defeating Celta Vigo 5-0 on Thursday, thanks to a Lionel Messi brace in the space of 3 minutes. In another clash, with the help of Wissam Ben Yedder and Joaquin Correa’s goals, Sevilla beat Cadiz 2-1 to book a place in the last eight.

Barcelona 5 - 0 Celta Vigo

Messi showed his terrific form from the start of the game as he opened the tally for his team in the 13th minute of the game and after just two minutes gap, he again targeted Celta Vigo’s goal post. After scoring his 21st and 22nd goals in all competitions this season, the 30-year-old also assisted Barca’s third goal for Jordi Alba. Barcelona entered in the half-time with a 4-0 lead as Luiz Suarez scored one in the 31st minute of the game. In the final minutes of the encounter, Ivan Rakitic also joined the scoring list as he headed in a corner kick by Dembele. The win helps the team to extend their unbeaten run this season to 28 straight matches.

Sevilla 2 - 1 Cadiz

After winning two matches against Cartagena last year, Sevilla faced defeat from Cadiz on January 4 but the team took the revenge by defeating the same team 2-1 in yesterday’s game in Spain, thanks to Yedder and Correa. Yedder was the man who opened the tally for the game after half an hour game as he scored from a rebound after a shot by Correa. Then Correa doubled the lead in the 54th minute of the game as he headed in from a corner taken by Pablo Sarabia. Cadiz seemed unable to comeback in the game as he had only 32 percent possession. Somehow, Alvaro Garcia managed a consolation goal for his team in the 86th minute.

Levante 0 - 2 Espanyol

In another encounter, Levante played against Espanyol where the latter registered 2-0 win. When both teams faced each other last time in the league the result was in Levante’s favor but this time Espanyol make sure that they didn't open the score tally in the game. For Espanyol, Leo Baptistao scored first after the 14 minutes and after 20 minutes Gerard Moreno scored the second which gave a 2-0 lead before going into the half-time. In the next half, Espanyol failed to extend the goal margin, on the other hand, Levante ended the game without any goal.
