Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal declared that he is going to write to the All India Football Federation to begin the use of video Assistant Referees (VAR) in the next Indian Super League season. This comes after the refereeing in this year’s ISL was surrounded by "erroneous" calls by officials.

The owner of Bengaluru FC and JSW steel company, Parth Jindal, has voiced his concern over the refereeing woes that the ISL endured this season. The ISL and as a matter of fact, the I-League this year, had a lot of wrong decisions that affected the outcome of various games in the past season. As a consequence, the AIFF had asked the director of referees, Gautam Kar, to step down after the end of the ISL due to the issues regarding the decisions on the pitch.

To which Kar replied, with the cliche, “Referees all over the world make mistakes. They are humans after all. That being said, the quality is fast improving.”

Now, Jindal has revealed that he will pen down a letter to the AIFF body in a bid to convince them to implement the use of video Assistant Referees (VAR) in the next Indian Super League season.

"Just saw the highlights - @UdantaK goal was not offside at all - @nishukumar22 should have had a penalty - really tough to take this loss - will officially write to AIFF to use VAR next season in the @IndSuperLeague," Jindal said in a tweet.

Jindal referred to Udanta’s goal for BFC, which was red-flagged by the linesman as offside, but the replay showed that the lad was onside and the goal should have allowed to stay. Jindal also referred to the incident involving Nishu Kumar which could have gone either way as replays suggested, but the official on the pitch ruled in favor of Chennaiyin FC.
