Manchester United's pursuit for Christian Eriksen has cooled down within the last few hours. In a late change of heart, Tottenham have raised the price asked for the Danish International to an amount the Red Devils aren't willing to commit, leading to a deadlock in negotiations.

In an unexpected twist of events, Manchester United have dropped their interest in Sporting's Bruno Fernandes and Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to pursue Tottenham's superstar Christian Eriksen. The interest was reported a few days ago and negotiations started to build steam from that point, with multiple sources admitting that a deal could be close.

However, it seems that both clubs couldn't reach an understanding for Eriksen's transfer reports the Telegraph. It further adds that United are dropping out of the race thanks to Tottenham’s asking price, which is reportedly higher than €80 million. Philippe Coutinho is the next name on the list, with Barcelona trying their best to offload the midfielder, with interest from Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal.

After failing with a move for Paulo Dybala, the Red Devils are incessantly looking for a creative player to boost their midfield along Paul Pogba, in order to compete for a top-four spot. Expect a busy day for the English sides, as there's few hours left to sign their targets.
