Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder is set to join Monaco after the two sides came to an agreement over a €40 million fee. The striker was linked to a myriad of clubs over the summer, namely Manchester United and Arsenal, but decided to join Monaco in a deal that could involve Rony Lopes.

Wissam Ben Yedder will join Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco this summer, according to Goal, after Les Monégasques activated his release clause. The club situated in a sovereign city-state was in need of a striker after receiving the news of Radamel Falcao's potential departure, possibly to either China or Turkey.

The 29-year-old had a pretty good goalscoring record with Sevilla, netting 70 goals in 138 appearances, and is hopeful of doing the same with AS Monaco after inking a five-year contract.

"I chose Monaco because I believe in this project and I am determined to do everything possible to go after our common goals. I come with the intention to prove, as always, my qualities and with the desire to reach a new level,” Yedder said in his first interview.

Going in the opposite direction is Rony Lopes. The Portuguese was one of the most influential players for the former Ligue 1 champions in the last two seasons, awakening the interest from several clubs, with Sevilla winning the race. The attacker is set to sign a five-year deal with the Sevillistas and will try to leave a strong impression at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
