James Maddison is quickly becoming one of Leicester's biggest names in the current season. The midfielder emerged last year in the Foxes squad, displaying some fine performances while helping the club climb positions in the Premier League table, arousing some interest from the best clubs in England.

After an away draw to Chelsea last Sunday, former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had an interesting take about the 22-year-old.

"I think he is the one player outside of the top six who Liverpool should be looking at," he was quoted saying by Goal.com,

"People have been talking about Coutinho coming back, but obviously that hasn’t happened as he’s gone to Bayern Munich, but if you're looking in the Premier League, yes he will cost a lot of money, but he should be the one Liverpool are looking at if you’re going to that next step up."

The comparisons have been up in the air for quite some time, with fellow work companion Gary Neville going even further, telling that Maddison reminds him of Gianfranco Zola or Eric Cantona due to his playing style.

He moved to Leicester in 2018 from Norwich, after tearing up the Championship, and the transition has been quite easy as he's been making a name for himself in England's main competition.
