The second edition of the Super Cup is scheduled to take place from March 15 to April 13, 2019, and it will take place in the city of Bhubaneshwar. The competition will see the six top teams from the ISL and I-League qualifying directly while the others would have to come through qualifying.

The inaugural edition of the Super Cup commenced on the same date last year and with 12 teams directly qualifying for the final round of the tournament, 8 teams had to play the qualifiers to compete in the major part of the tournament. The format of the tournament will remain unchanged this year, with the top 6 teams from the I-League and the ISL getting direct entry. The relegated team from the I-League will not be able to take part in the tournament at all.

A total of 4 qualifier games will be played amongst the bottom four teams of the ISL and the teams placed 7th to 10th in the table of the I-League. The winners of the qualifiers will be grouped with the top 12 and the final round of the tournament will feature 16 teams.

All the matches will be played at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneshwar just like last year. The first edition of the Hero Super Cup came to an end, with a dramatic clash between East Bengal and Bengaluru in the finals. Sunil Chhetri scored twice to become the Man of the match as Bengaluru won the first ever Super Cup title beating East Bengal 4 - 1.
