Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that the club is in conversations to reinforce their side before the start of the season. The Gunners have been very lackadaisical in their approach to the transfer window, with Gabriel Martinelli their only new man, despite links to various players.

Arsenal have taken things very slowly in the summer transfer window so far, with the club adding just one new addition. However, even Gabriel Martinelli will go straight into the youth set-up before making his senior debut for the club. That has seen a few fans become frustrated with the club’s transfer activity despite links to William Saliba, Kieran Tierney, Wilfried Zaha and even Yannick Carrasco.

But that is not manager Unai Emery’s view as the Arsenal boss revealed ahead of the club’s first International Champions Cup clash against Bayern Munich. “We are working, the club is working with the possibility to sign some new players to help us,” he said in an interview with the Independent.

“We are doing a lot of meetings with the club, with (technical director) Edu, with Raul (Sanllehi, head of football) and also with Josh and Stan Kroenke on Monday in Denver. We have a clear idea to sign players to help us with quality and in the positions we need.”

“We are taking with the patience and with the calm because we really want to sign players who can help us with big performances. Really, I can say to our supporters that we are going to have a very good team with the players that are there now and also with three or four players who can help us in a few days," he concluded.
