IWL 2019 | Sethu FC rout Kolhapur City, SAI-STC Cuttack wins against Baroda Football Academy

Sethu Fc put up a stunning show against FC Kolhapur City to register a huge 9-0 win in the ongoing Indian Women’s League football tournament in Ludhiana. In another encounter on Sunday, Cuttack’s SAI-STC also managed to script a comprehensive 4-0 win against Baroda Football Academy.

Sethu FC dominated the entire passage of Sunday’s encounter against Kolhapur City as Sabitra Bhandari and Ratanbala Devi scored a hat-trick each at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. Dangmei Grace had scored the opening goal for Sethu FC in the fourth minute of the match to give them an early lead. She came in to score her second goal of the game as she managed to convert a penalty kick. 

Grace’s Indian teammate Ratnabala then joined the party and found the back of the net in quick succession to make it 5-0 in Sethu’s favour before going into the break as Jabamani Tudu had scored an own goal as well. 

Bhandari had a great time in the second half of the match as the Nepal international scored a hat-trick in a span of only 20 minutes. Ratnabala also completed her hat-trick to make it 9-0 before the end of the match.

On the other hand, after a humiliating defeat against Manipur Police, SAI-STC Cuttack registered a convincing victory against Baroda Football Academy. The team from Gujarat was defeated by the Odisha-based side by 4-0 goals. Susmita and Deepa Nayak had scored for SAI-STC in the first half while Niketa Bishi and Rashmi Jee got their names on the scoresheet in the last 10 minutes.
