According to TOI, after stunning everyone by landing Eelco Schattorie as their manager for next season Kerala Blasters are now eyeing to get in one their manager’s favourite players in Bartholomew Ogbeche. NorthEast United FC, on the other end, have already bid farewell to their star forward.

Coming to the Indian Super League after playing for the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and the Nigerian national team, Ogbeche was a huge hit scoring 12 goals from 18 matches and ending as ISL’s second highest goal-scorer in last edition.

Finishing third in the league also signalled one of the Highlanders’ better seasons, but it seems that they have to rebuild everything from the core with their star manager and hit striker leaving after just one season. Although Kerala are yet to announce anything about Ogbeche, sources close to the development have reportedly stated that things are sure and with Schattorie reportedly wanting him, the move should go through.

NEUFC have already announced that Ogbeche has left the club through their social media handles. "It's always bittersweet to move on! We wish our 35-year-old striker Bart all the best for the future," the club’s post read.

Ogbeche could be the missing piece for Blasters with his finesse after the club struggled to score goals with Matej Poplatnik up top. An experienced striker playing in France, Spain, England, Netherlands, Greece, and UAE, Ogbeche would be the lynchpin in Schattorie’s master plan. The Blasters have already completed the signing of Mario Arques from Jamshedpur FC.
