Love to stay at Chelsea but it’s not my decision, confesses Willian

Chelsea winger Willian has insisted that he loves the club and would want to stay but admits that his future lies in Chelsea’s hands. The Brazilian’s current contract is set to expire in the summer and he has revealed he has already informed Blues’ chiefs of his intentions to stay longer than that.
Chelsea player Willian is set to become a free agent at the end of this season when his contract expires, but the player is interested in staying at the Stamford Bridge for years to come. The English club has a policy of only offering one-year deals to players aged 30 and above. However, the Blues strayed from that unwritten rule when handing David Luiz a two-year contract in May, offering some hope to Willian.
The former Anzhi player signed a contract extension earlier this year but wants to commit more years to the London club. In an interview with the Sky Sports, he was questioned about his intentions on staying at Chelsea and if he had been offered a new contract.
“No, not yet. Honestly, I'm happy here. I feel happy to play for this club but this situation is not in my hands. It's in theirs. I wait for them. They know what I want, what I want to do. They already know so I wait for them. No, I don't want to talk to them because I have a contract until the end of the season. I am a Chelsea player but I just want to say the club know what I want to do,” said Willian to Sky Sports.
Chelsea are currently facing a transfer ban that restricts them from signing any new players but they have appealed for the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over the FIFA transfer ban. The judgement will be an important factor in deciding Willian’s future at the club. Christian Pulisic has won Frank Lampard’s confidence and achieved a regular starting place in the team.
Callum Hudson Odoi, Pedro and Willian compete for the other winger’s spot and so far Willian seems to be winning the battle. However, as time proceeds Lampard might favour Odoi over the other 30+ aged wingers with reports indicating that Pedro might be sold in January.Â
