Reports | Wolves still keen on a move for Franck Kessie

Premier League side Wolves are showing interest in signing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie once again. The midfielder is still on the market, and is attracting interest from other European clubs as well, such as AS Monaco, after failing to secure a move away from San Siro this summer.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Franck Kessie was amongst the three players that AC Milan wanted to leave out, before the closure of the transfer window on 2nd September. The Ivory Coast International was indeed almost on the way out of Milan, after agreeing to a €25m plus bonus deal with AS Monaco, reports La Repubblica. However, the move failed to materialise and now Wolves have rekindled their interest in the 22-year-old.

AC Milan are eager to offload Kessie in the upcoming January transfer window, while the player himself has asked for a €4million-a-year salary from Wolves, which will be a major upgrade from his current €2.2m salary. SempreMilan has reported that despite numerous offers from China, alongside the existing offers from Wolves and Monaco, AC Milan are waiting to take a decision on the player’s future until January arrives.

The presence of a number of midfielders in the Rossoneri squad, such as the likes of Rade Krunic, Fabio Borini, Giacomo Bonaventura, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lucas Paqueta, have pushed Kessie on the sidelines. However, the player himself is willing to fight to earn his spot into the first team and hopes to prove his worth to the club, which will get him a new deal in return.
