BBC report that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has “no complaints” and no objections with VAR after an offside call proved to be a key factor in their defeat 2-1 to Leicester. VAR has been a point of debate throughout the Premier League and it has seen many managers speaking for and against it.

Pochettino is in favour of the VAR and has no complaints regarding it. Tottenham took the lead through their star striker Harry Kane. Serge Aurier’s low drive was disallowed for a tight offside call against Son Heung-min. Within a few moments after taking the lead Spurs conceded as Ricardo Pereira scored for the Foxes. James Maddison applied the finishing touch to the game by scoring a late winner in the 86th minute.

"I trust in the referees and I'm not going to complain. I am always talking about sometimes it VAR benefits you and sometimes against you. That is football. After you can't complain. You have to accept it," said Pochettino reports the BBC.

Replays of Aurier's disallowed effort are unconvincing and questionable with disagreement about whether Son was offside. VAR not only ruled out a goal on Spurs’ side but also for the Leicester side. Wilfred Ndidi’s goal was also disallowed for offside.

"We need to analyse the game in a different way," said Pochettino. His side hasn't been able to come out a win from their previous 9 away fixtures. "It is completely fair. I am not disappointed with that. I am disappointed we conceded two goals. "We dominated the game and we deserved more but that is football. It can change quick. We need to keep working. We have a lot of games coming and we need to be ready."

The Premier League told BBC Sport: "The VAR has to judge offside based on the evidence provided. Once the line is drawn it becomes objective as the player is either onside or offside. The key thing to note is that the VAR can only use the technology and the information at their disposal."
