Victor Lindelof has admitted that he took no notice of criticism from former manager Jose Mourinho, following Manchester United’s defeat to West Ham last weekend. The Red Devils were thoroughly beaten by the Hammers and saw their performance heavily criticized by Mourinho, with Lindelof a target.

Talking on Sky Sports, Jose Mourinho heavily criticised former defender Victor Lindelof, going on to say that the Swedish star cannot defend in the box. The former Manchester United boss even went on to add that Lindelof was a bad one-on-one defender and someone who can be builled aerially as well, which did not go down well with a few supporters. However, with Manchester United losing to West Ham United in a game where Sebastien Haller dominated the two central-defenders, few would disagree with Mourinho’s statement.

Instead, now in an interview with Sky Sports, Lindelof has revealed that he did not even know that his former manager had even said that about him. But after hearing about it, the Swede went on to say that when you play for a club like Manchester United, everyone has an opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinions.

"For me it has never been a problem, I'm a very easy guy. There is always going to be someone talking or someone else. When you play for this club there is always going to be people criticising you and the way you play,” Lindelof told Sky Sports.

"For me it has never been a problem, even when I play good there is someone criticising me for something. It's part of the job, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm just trying to do my thing and I don't focus on those things. I didn't even notice, or know about it, before you told me. That's how I live my life and focus on my things."

The 25-year-old arrived a little over three years ago, then under Jose Mourinho, and has since moved out from the former Red Devils boss, becoming a key man under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. While that may change in the future, Lindelof is here to stay, even signing a new deal with the Red Devils recently as he believes his future is at Old Trafford.

"If you are playing for Manchester United is part of it. If you do not perform you hear about it, it's quite normal. I could see my future here so that's why I signed a new contract. I'm really happy about that. We have a good thing going and I still want to win the big trophies with this club, that has been my goal since I signed," concluded the former Benfica star.
