Gujarat Fortunegiants team coach Manpreet Singh has admitted that the Delhi side has an excellent team that forced them to tie their previous encounter. In a nerve-wracking match the encounter between Dabang Delhi and Gujarat Fortunegiants ended in a tie with a scoreline of 32-32 on Tuesday.

The match between Gujarat Fortunegiants and Dabang Delhi came to a befitting conclusion on a tie at 32-32. It was the first match of the season for both the teams, who played equally well. And at the post-match conference, the players echoed the same. While the Gujarat team was represented by Manpreet Singh and captain Sunil Kumar, the Delhi team was represented by coach Krishna Kumar Hooda and captain Joginder Narwal.

“It was a great match. Delhi has a very good team as well. All teams in our zone are performing very well. As far as the match is concerned, Gujarat played very well in the first half. But they came back towards the end. The defenders played well throughout though. The players Delhi started with are all star players. Players like Shabeer Bappu, Meraj Sheykh are all superstars. We will plan for players like these going ahead and hope we don’t get any more surprise factors like Ranjit today. But yes, I can say that the Delhi team is strong this season” Gujarat coach Manpreet Singh said after the match.

With the season at an initial stage, the table competition has not yet heated up. Captain of Delhi team Joginder Narwal had a good match with some solid tackles to his name in the match, and when asked about his performance, also sounded confident about his performance in the next match.

“All the players played according to the plan, especially Vishal Mane. I will do even better in the next match” said Narwal.

Earlier in May, the Delhi management had picked former national team coach Krishna Kumar Hooda as the coach of Dabang Delhi team.

“All 12 players are equal. There are times when someone is doing better than the others and, according to our strategy, we sometimes must make changes. All 12 are playing members and even though they’re on the bench, they play an important part during the game”, said Hooda.
