U Mumba skipper Fazel Atrachali after their win against Tamil Thalaivas last night said that he is happy that the whole team contributed to the win and that he is satisfied with the team’s overall performance. Mumba rose in ranks after the win, currently fourth on the league points table.

U Mumba outplayed Tamil Thalaivas and won their game last night 29-24. They had a shaky start but Tamil Thalaivas' inability to inflict all-outs worked in their favour they finished the first half with only a 2-point deficit.

“The most important thing was that we win today. My performance was not very important for me. I’m happy that we won this match and with the team’s overall performance,” skipper Fazel Atrachali said in the post-match press conference.

In the raiding department, MS Atul was the highest scorer with seven points though he would have hoped for better support which was lacking from both Abhishek Singh (3) and Arjun Deshwal (1) who collectively scored only four points. The defense was the key for U Mumba who collectively scored 11 points as compared to Tamil Thalaivas’ 6 points.

“We are very happy that the strongest link of our team – the defence – has performed well today. After a slow start the defence really caught on. Alongside the defenders, Athul MS also shone for our team. If he can keep this up in the coming matches then it can really benefit our team,” Assistant coach Upendra Singh said.

Skipper Fazel Atrachali and Harendra Singh were the top scorers in defense with 3 tackle points each and they were well supported by Sandeep Narwal and Rajguru who scored two points each. Though Surinder Singh's form is still a big point of concern for U Mumba, he finished the match with only a single point. Sandeep Narwal also contributed in raiding by scoring 3 cheeky points which caught the opposition off guard.

“We are definitely looking forward to him (Sandeep Narwal) raiding more often but more importantly it is essential for at least one Corner to be in. We only send him to raid in certain situation otherwise even he could feel the pressure thinking  that if he is caught it could weaken the defence. Today he did not have that pressure and thus he raided freely. When he has the pressure of spearheading the defence he might not be able to raid with so much efficiency,” Assistent coach Harender Singh signed off.
