On Day 5 of the first edition of the Indo-International Premier Kabaddi League, Bangalore Rhinos and Pune Pride won their respective games against Haryana Heros and Pondicherry Predators respectively. Amarjeeth Singh shone for Pune with 20 raid points while Arumugam was the star for the Rhinos.

Bangalore Rhinos and Haryana Heros were two equally-matched sides on the mat last evening when they took on each other. The game started with both the teams securing 11 points each in the first quarter of the match. However, in the second one, it was the side from Bengaluru that ruled on the court after that in the next three quarters of the game.

With Arumugam looking in great touch in the raiding unit, Bangalore didn’t look back after the half-time break as well. Although Haryana’s Vikash Khatri tried his level best to restrict the Bangalore raiders from collecting more points, Bangalore was well in place as they went into the fourth quarter with a decent lead. The final quarter saw both the teams matching each other raid by raid but that was not enough for Haryana as Bangalore won the match by 47-41 points. Arumugam, who collected 14 raid points in the game, was awarded Man of the Match.

Although Pondicherry Predators was the dominating side at the start of the match against Pune Pride at the Balewadi Stadium, the home team staged a wonderful comeback to register a comprehensive win in the end. The first quarter was taken away by the team from the South Indian union territory as they were leading by 12-9 points after the first 10 minutes of play.

Pune, on the other hand, played exceedingly well with Amarjeeth starring in the raiding department in the remaining three quarters. Pune had a lead of 24-19 points at end of the first half of the game and eventually took the match by 47-36 points. Amarjeeth collected 20 raid points and also gathered a couple of tackle points. For the outstanding show, the raider was the right contender for the Man of the Match award as well.
