After their loss in last night’s match, Bengaluru Bulls skipper Pawan Sehrawat has admitted that their defence wasn’t up to the mark and wasn’t able to get them out of a troubled situation. They lost the match by seven points though it didn’t affect them much as they are already in the playoffs.

Bengaluru Bulls lost to Jaipur Pink Panthers last night and ended the match with the scoreline 34-41. Despite being behind at halftime and doing well in the initial stages of the second half they faltered towards the end which cost them in the match. They inflicted the first all-out of the match, five minutes into the second half and gained a lead for the first time. Though they were unable to maintain that lead. Their defence disappointed them again as they were only able to score eight points collectively and so they ended up suffering an all-out in the last seconds of the game.

“We didn’t lose the match because of raiding. Banty put in some Do-or-Die raids, Sumit Singh scored a few points as well. Yes, we felt Rohit Kumar’s absence, but we can’t say that we lost the match due to raiding. The issue was with the defence. We experimented a little; I didn’t raid as much and allowed Sumit and Banty to raid instead to assess how they do,” Bengaluru Bulls' skipper Pawan Sehrawat said in the post-match press conference.

They experimented in the raiding department by holding back Pawan and gave a chance to Sumit and Banty to deal with the situation. Sumit finished the match with six raid points and one tackle point. Even though Pawan did just 15 raids he managed to score 14 points with five unsuccessful raids against his name. The highest score in defence was of Ankit with three tackle points and four unsuccessful tackles which pretty much sums up the performance in the defence for the Bulls in this match.

“I wasn’t raiding as much, and I was benched for some 7-8 minutes as well. The second and third raiders were also getting tackled, so our hopes rested on the defence, but they couldn’t get us through” Pawan signed off.
