Bengaluru Bulls raider Pawan Sehrawat has mentioned that the seventh edition of the league has been very hard to predict and has been a tough one as well. Pawan also stated that the defending champions don’t need a third raider in the team after him and skipper Rohit Kumar in the tournament.

With all the 12 teams playing each other twice in the ongoing season of the Pro Kabaddi League, this is a completely different format for the tournament since its inception in 2014. It has been an equal match up between the raiders and the defenders as well in 2019 and Bengaluru raider Pawan Sehrawat has termed it as a tournament where it is too hard to predict.

“This season has been hard to predict. It hasn’t been a season for the raiders. This season has been tough. Every team has come with their set of plans. It has been tough,” Pawan told TOI.

Pawan is the primary raider for the Bulls who also have their skipper Rohit Kumar as well. The team had the services of experienced Kashiling Adake as the third raider in the previous season where they went ahead to lift the title. However, two youngsters Sumit Singh and Banty are used as the third raider for the ongoing tournament by the Bulls this year. Pawan stated that there is no need to have a third raider in the side at the moment.

“I feel we don’t need a third raider. Last year, too we didn’t need one. Last year, I had Kashiling Adake with me. When he wasn’t with me, I had Rohit Kumar. So we didn’t need a third raider. If both raiders give their 100 percent, then a third a raider isn’t necessary,” Sehrawat said.

“We are trying our best to qualify. All teams are good and it has been a tough season. We are at the halfway mark and we will start to look at the points table. We have not focussed too much on it so far but from now on we will start to look at it to see how many points we need to progress.”
