Gujarat Fortunegiants’ coach Manpreet Singh said that UP Yoddha played well in both defence and offence and the result of that is evident. Gujarat Fortunegiants is currently in the 8th position on the points table with 8 losses in 14 matches, their chances are also thinning because of this loss.

Gujarat Fortunegiants lost last night’s match because apart from two of their players, none of them performed. They were all-out when there were three minutes left in the first-half and were lagging behind by seven points when the first-half ended. They, however, did make a comeback courtesy of a four-point super raid by Sachin Tanwar in the second half.

“They played better in offence and defence. And the result is evident from that,” Manpreet Singh said in the post-match press conference.

They executed one super-raid and two super-tackles, but still was not able to catch up with the UP Yoddha’s score. In raiding, Sachin Tanwar was the highest scorer with 10 points and in defence, skipper Sunil Kumar was the top scorer with six tackle points. Apart from them, no player was able to score more than two points in the whole match. With this loss, their chances of going into the top 6 slimmed and they have to win every match from now on to get there.

“We have almost a week before the next match. So, we will work on eliminating the errors and work on not repeating them in the upcoming games,” Manpreet Singh signed off.
