Shotgun World Championship | Kynan Chenai fails to make it to trap final

Kynan Chenai shot 118 and failed to qualify for the trap final by just three points at the ongoing Shotgun World Championship in Lonato, Italy on Wednesday. Other Indian shooters Prithviraj Tondaiman and Zoravar Singh Sandhu shot 116 and 111 respectively to finish at the 49th and 89th positions.

Indian shooter Kynan Chenai recorded his lowest total of the season on Wednesday which prevented him from making it to the finals of the World Championships. Chenai ended up with 118 points and missed the final berth by only three points. His last three totals 123, 122 and 120 were in the last three World Cups in Acapulco, Al Ain and Changwon respectively. In the World Championship, he shot 22, 25, 24, 23 and 24 and ended at the 19th spot in a field of 157.

Other Indian shooters Prithviraj Tondaiman and Zoravar Singh Sandhu also failed to make it to the next round. Tondaiman scored a total of 116, with rounds of 24, 22, 24, 23 and 23 and ended at 49th while Sandhu shot 19, 20, 25, 23 and 24 and finished at the 89th place.

Asian Games silver medallist Lakshay Sheoran scored 114 and Fahd Sultan managed to score 112 in the MQS section.

Among the women shooters in the competition, Manisha Keer shot 108 while Olympian Shagun Chowdhary scored 107. World Cup silver medallist Seema Tomar managed to shoot only 101.
