Saniya Sheikh was the best among all the Indian female shooters in skeet at the Shotgun World Championship as she finished at the 30th position with a total score of 112. Gurnihal Singh Garcha was the top performer among the junior men at the event as he shot 109 to finish 31st in skeet category.

The Indian shooters didn’t have a great day at the ongoing Shotgun World Championship in Lonato, Italy, as none of them could manage to finish on the podium in skeet shooting. The best-placed Indian among the female shooters was former National Champion, Saniya Sheikh. She managed to register a total score of 112 and was placed 30th among 61 shooters on Wednesday. With a series of scores 22, 23, 23, 22 and 22, she failed to leave a good impact at the Championship.

Another Indian in the same category, Areeba Khan, had a good outing on the first day with scores of 70 out of 75 but he failed to continue the good run on Day 2 with rounds of 22 and 17. She was placed at the 47th position with a score of 109. Kartiki Singh Shaktawat was the third Indian among the female skeet shooters and she shot 108 to finish 50th among 61 in the event.

India’s Gurnihal Singh Garcha (109), Ayush Rudraraju (107) and Arjun Thakur (104) also failed to leave any mark in the junior men’s skeet shooting event, and were placed 31st, 32nd and 35th respectively among 36 total participants in the category.
